I am a creative, strategic and human-centred design expert with senior-level experience in product design, design thinking and usability. I put audience goals at the heart of everything I do, ensuring measurable business outcomes. I thrive in design thinking for innovation and have led projects across the product lifecycle from user research and discovery to prototyping and continuous evaluation. I thrive in multidisciplinary collaborative environments and have successfully led teams through complex design challenges across various industries.
I have a wealth of experience in creative media production, specialising in visual storytelling and motion design. I founded a small content creation company in 2010 which provides video and animation solutions for marketing campaigns, involving corporate promotional films, mini documentaries and social media content. My work in video, graphic and sound design involved clients across both public and private sectors including SMEs, the BBC, Maxell Europe and Rolls Royce.
I’ve balanced a commercial career with senior-level university teaching in creative subjects, including UX design, web technologies, and media production. I’ve inspired thousands of students, aged between 19-75, from diverse backgrounds, including neurodiverse and international communities. During my time in academia, I’ve been nominated multiple times for “Most Inspiring Lecturer” and “Most Innovative Lecturer.”
